• Statistically over 90% of parents, who attend church regularly, entrust nearly all of their child’s spiritual training to someone who only has one hour each week to effect that education

Lesson Plan for Beginner’s Class (Age 2-7)

• There are 4 semesters of 13 weeks each year.• Create a lesson plan for the year.• Give your lesson plan to the church office to

have a record of what was taught.• Try to teach the whole Bible every 3 years.

Take Care of the Material

• The material belongs to the Lord• If we don’t take care of the material, we are not

taking care of the things of the Lord.• Even though you are a member of the church, the

things in the church don’t belong to you! (Really!) Please return all material to the church after use.

• If you take something from the church, you be the one to bring it back. Don’t delegate your responsibility!

New Material

• All Bible Characters except Samson should have short hair! If the material has the disciples or Jesus with long hair, give them a hair cut!

• Girls and Women in the stories should have dresses or skirts.

• We only use the KJB in English.• Get Pastor’s approval before purchasing

anything!

Movies and Music

• Must be approved by the Pastor first.• It should not have “Christian” rock or other

music that we don’t play in the church.• Songs should not have a “beat” or too much

“rhythm”.

Lesson Plan for Intermediates (Ages 8-12)

• Teach the Bible but also teach practical things that apply to their life such as…– How to Dress– The Correct Music– Evolution and Creation– How to Evangelize– How to Be a Good Testimony at School

• Teach the Bible but also teach practical things for their lives such as…– How to Pray– How to Study the Bible– How to Win Souls

• Instead of always telling them what they shouldn’t do, teach them how their lives can be different if they put Christ first and as the center of their lives!

10:25 – 10:30 Plan of Salvation

• Repeat the Plan of Salvation Each Week.• Teach the 4 basic things and repeat each

week:1. We are all sinners.2. The wages of sin is death in hell.3. Christ died for our sins.4. Salvation is by faith in Christ alone.

The Invitation

• Have all the children bow their heads and close their eyes.

• Ask: If you are 100% sure that you will go to Heaven when you die, please raise your hand.

• Say: If you could not raise your hand right now and you are not 100% sure that you will go to Heaven when you die, but you would like to, please raise your hand now.

Lead them to Christ

• The Assistant Teacher can ask those that raised their hands to step out to speak with her.

• Explain the 4 steps to salvation and lead them to Christ.

• Fill out a decision card and give it to the teacher.

10:30 – 10:35 Bible Verse

• Memorize a Bible verse each week.• Memorize a series of verses to memorize a

chapter.• The verse should go with the lesson.• Make a Bible Verse Visual.• Make Bible Memory Verse Tokens for the kids

to take home.

10:35 – 10:45 Object Lesson

Teacher• Helps the kids pay attention• Sits with the kids that are

the “trouble-makers”.

Assistant Teacher• Prepares the Lesson• Gives the Lesson• Give the lesson in a way

that gets the kids excited about what you are teaching!

• Use physical objects to teach a spiritual lesson.• Example: Two Balloons. One has air, and the

other has helium.• The balloon with air represents the Christian

trying to do things in his own strength.• The balloon with helium represents the

Christian filled with the Holy Spirit. He can do things above and beyond his own strength!

Series Story

• A story that takes 3-5 weeks to tell.• Makes the kids want to come back to hear the

rest.• And the end of each story, tell them a little bit

about what they will learn the next week to encourage them to come back.

• Games should go with the lesson.• Review what was taught in the class• Divide in teams – girls vs boys, row vs row• Everyone should have a chance to play• Give prizes! (Pencils, stickers. Don’t give gum

or hard candy)

• Art Projects should go with the lesson. • Once a month, substitute the Object Lesson

and Game Time for an Art Project.• Hang up the student’s work in the classroom.

The kids will want to come back to see their work and take it home.

• Don’t get paint on the kid’s clothes! The moms won’t want to send their kids to the church that gets their clothes dirty!

Dismissal Time

• Dismiss kids on time to not interrupt the next class.

• Remind the kids to drink water and go to the bathroom.

• Explain that the adults are in the auditorium and they should not go look for them but go to their next class.
