Welcome to the UPEI Department of Music’s 2014-15 concert season! � is year, the UPEI Music Department Concert Series off ers a unique opportunity to celebrate the return of some of our graduates, both recent and not-so-recent. Six of our performance dates focus on alumni who have established themselves as musical artists with growing reputations on the local, regional, or national level.
Our 2014-2015 season also features winners of the Atlantic Young Artist Competition and the National Eckhardt-Grammaté Competition, plus pianist-composer Heather Taves and acclaimed cellist Julia MacLaine. Regardless of whether your preferences lie in the classical or jazz realm, vocal or instrumental music, we’ll have something for everyone!

In addition to the performances listed in this brochure, a variety of solo
student recitals (Junior/Senior/Directed Studies) will take place during
the winter semester throughout March and April. � e schedule will be
available in early January.
• All performances take place in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall in the Steel
Building on the UPEI campus unless otherwise indicated.
• Barrier-free parking is available adjacent to the Steel Building; take the
driveway in front of the NRC/Joan & Regis Duffy Building. All parking on
campus is free after 5 pm.
• For those who cannot use stairs, the Recital Hall is accessible by elevator
from the main entrance to the Steel Building (middle door of three).
• If you would like to be notifi ed of upcoming concerts by email, please
send a request to music@upei.ca
