BECOME A PRAYER PARTNER FOR AN
IMMANUEL CONFIRMAND
Confirmation classes for Immanuel’s sixth
through eighth grade students begin after Labor
Day. In an effort to support our students, we
would like to assign each eighth grader a Prayer
Partner, who will encourage and pray for him or
her throughout this final year of confirmation
instruction.
The goals of the Prayer Partner program are to
build relationships between confirmands and
other adults in the congregation and reinforce
the importance and power of prayer in the lives
of believers of all ages. We further hope to en-
courage and support students during their con-
firmation journey and help them remain con-
nected to and active in the church beyond
Confirmation Sunday
As a Prayer Partner you will pray regularly for
your student and send him or her a letter each
month or a card of encouragement for his or her
faith journey. In addition, you will send a special
card or letter on your confirmands’s birthday
and baptism birthday. Finally, if possible, attend
Immanuel’s confirmation service on Sat., May. 9,
2020 at 5:30 PM. Confirmands will be encour-
aged to write back to their Prayer Partners with
specific prayer requests, God-sightings, and in-
formation about how they are doing.
Any confirmed adult can be a prayer partner—
including siblings, grandparents, etc. Complete
and return the Prayer Partner to the church of-
fice by Mon., Aug. 12 or contact Erica Ciro: cell
630 251 6761 or eciro65@gmail.com. Forms are
available in the church lobby and on the blue
table outside the church office.
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Jesus said, “This is my commandment, that you
love one another as I have loved you.” Loving
and caring for one another is not just the
Pastor’s job, it’s something Jesus commands all
of us to do! Each Christian is called by name to
provide the love that God has so freely given us.
Stephen Ministry answers the call in an
organized and confidential manner, bringing
Jesus’ love and care to those who most need it.
For more information, contact our Stephen
Leader, Sue Marvel at 630 844 6562.
QUARTERLY BLOOD DRIVE
Immanuel had a great blood drive last Sunday—
17 units of blood were given—potentially saving
51 lives! This is awesome for a summer drive
when supplies are down and donations are so
desperately needed. Thank you those who do-
nated!

dents and adults who enjoy singing. New mem-
