Celebrations & Announcements
The end of October brought us the good times of
Halloween and all of the costumes that went with it!
Thank you to everyone who participated. The month
of November began with a beautiful remembrance of
those we have lost in the past year. The All-Saint’s
Day service is always a way to celebrate the life of
Summit Square Residents. We were able to pack 16
shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation
Christmas Child. I would like to say a huge
THANK YOU to
all who donated,
packed, and
repacked boxes for
this project. It was
a success! Now, it
is on to December
and we are looking
forward to what
the month holds!
I heard the bells on Christmas Day Their old, familiar carols play, and wild and sweet The words repeat Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

During the four weeks of Advent, we are called
to prepare ourselves for the birth of the Christ-child.
This year we will have many opportunities available to
celebrate Advent.
Daily Devotionals: Grab your own free copy of the devotional
booklets available for daily readings during the Advent Season.
This resource will help us focus on the true meaning of the
Christmas Season with short excerpts of scripture, a thoughtful
meditation and a daily prayer. Take the few minutes to start your
day off right! The devotionals for this year are on the coffee table in
my office, stop in to pick up your copy of Journey into the Light.
Bible Study: Join me each Tuesday at 10:00 in the Wellness
Center Conference room for our weekly bible study. We will wrap
up our study The Jewishness of Jesus by Rabbi Evan Moffic. Each
week, I plan to start our session with an Advent message using our
Advent wreath.
Vespers: Each Sunday, and on Christmas Eve, we will have a
special Advent worship service offered in the First Floor Conference
Room. Join us as we celebrate with special Christmas carols, holy
scripture readings and a message from area pastors to commemorate
this holy season.
Blessings for a very Merry Christmas,
Jenny Lucas
