FoodGFD take place every 2 months with two months food provided to the IDPs, simultaneously 17 basic schools are supported with food for education.

HealthThere are 5 clinics operating in the camp and one ambu-lance for emergency referral to El-fasher hospital. Since last November, moblie clinic stopped working in north area of camp C.

WASHPresently, in the camp 9 water sources, 69 hand pumps out of which 59 are functional. 4 water containers exist which fill 17 bladders in the camp. As per the rapid assessment presently 19 liters water is provided to per capita in a day and one latrine is used by 21 persons.

NFIs/ShelterJerri cans, plastic sheets, cooking sets and plastic mats are provided targeting 26,660 households selected by Plan Sudan and community leaders, as the extremely vulnerable house holds.

EducationIn basic schools one latrine is used by 103 students per day, 12 schools are without water facility, 10 schools do not benefit from school feeding program.

Zamzam IDP camp is located about 14 km south of El Fasher town. The old Zamzam IDP camp was opened in August 2004 for the displaced people from Tabit, Hashaba Abu Zerega, Otash, Hillit Sinin and Tarni and Jebel Marra areas. In February 2009, the new Zamzam extension was opened for displaced people from Muhajeria, Umm Shejera, Labdo, Abu Dangal and Khazan Jadeed areas in South Darfur. In December 2010, new arrivals came to Zamzam IDP camp from the Shangil Tobaya area. In 2011 from villages in the areas of Tabit and Tukukmare and in February 2012 from Alawana in Dar el Salam locality and Abu Delek in Kalimindo locality. It currently has estimated population of 164,000. This figure is based on information from UN agencies and NGOs working in Zamzam. This figure is subject to change as more information becomes available.
