Ravidas soon found himself at the feet of swami Ramanand to initiated him into spiritual life. A few month discipleships completely changed his life.

One day he was disturbed in his meditation . A dear was struggling to escape because he was caught in a net laid by a hunter. Ravidas ji decided to save the mother and the child He lost no time and began to address the hunter in the following words “we are the children of same loving father love every creature that walks on earth because all forms are sacred.”

He exhorted the weaker section of the society not to bow down the wishes of the high cast people. He told them that they should feel the strength of the spirit within them and get rid of all weak thoughts from their minds.
