The garden can be considerd as the outdoorliving area,It adds and complets the architectural unit.

It is open, wide, offers safety, privacy and nature.

It is a place of- recreation,- communication,- representation,- refelction,- various activities and - beauty.

Zoning based on a guiding idea such as e.g. formal garden, artistic garden, active garden, eco friendly garden, informal garden, ..., etc.The concept should harmonize therelation between architecture (buildenvironment) and landscape (nature) and lead in a smooth transitionbetween them.

The conceptual idea should deal withactive and passive areas, withgraduations between private and publiczones.

Design requierements

Based on the site analysis an individiual and unique solution needs to be developed withinthe urban context.

- Views: presentation of nature and elements

-Axses/ lines, circles, groups, compositions

- Colours and shapes

-Contrasts e.g between old and new

- Topography, terrain modeling

- Art

- Exclusive materials (stones, wood, stainlesssteel, exposed concrete, ...)

- Plants as environmental and sensualcomponents (optic, smells, colours, symbols, orientation)
