Visual literacy is the ability to recognize and express the human condition through ideas and emotion. With the emergence of industrial and digital tech-nology, visual literacy has become an essential part of our human experience. At SDSU’s School of Art + Design, we produce two- and three-dimen-sional art and design in spatial and chronemic con-texts in order to improve human interface between science and people, through information delivery, throughout our daily life, and in the contemplation of human reality. With this publication, we are very proud to present our students’ best art and design work. Within this portfolio are projects created by the students en-rolled at SDSU in the School of Art + Design during the spring 2014 semester.

We would like to thank SDSU Administration, the Division of Undergraduate Studies, the College of Professional Studies and Fines Arts, other associ-ated Colleges and Schools, but especially our own Arts Council for their tireless support and encour-agement through the organization of exhibitions and receptions, the awarding of scholarships and grants, as well as their mentoring of emerging art-ists and designers.
