July 2010

Hello Everyone,

July has been a very productive month! We have completed our website! Just click HERE to see how beautiful it is. And because it is so rainy and nice these days- I use this season to do “office work”- which is done in the garden.

Accompanied by a stray cat,

Three monkeys,

And a bee-like insect with his delicious dead worm!

I am editing our old updates to make them more fabulous. And will post them all up on www.issuu.com soon! I am also drafting out a cartoon book which tells the story of our project! This should be interesting.

We have started our project with The Tribal Children’s Hostel!

It is a 30 years old hostel for hill tribe kids who come and study in town. Mr. Bobby has devoted all his life to this place.

He was born amongst the hills of Burma. He is American, but English is his third language. He has been calling Thailand his home for 30 years. All his life has been dedicated to this hostel. Such an honor to be working with him! So this hostel is fund raising for sports equipments! For this hostel, I have to talk and teach people from different ages to make cards- some are older than me! It was a new thing to me and I wasn’t very good at it. I was so tensed! But I will make sure I do better next time.

Still! Look at this!

They are pretty amazing…

And just last Friday, we did a workshop with the 5

th and 6

th graders of Baan Hua Kuang

School. It was even more fun because we did it outside of the classroom, underneath the bamboo trees!

A family friend, R. Ratchata, who is an amazing photographer, also joined us. He is taking photos for our website- and I cannot wait to see them!

In the workshop- we talked and played games that boost up the imagination. And you know what is so rewarding? After the game, a little boy came up to me and gave me this! He turned a stone into a cute creature- I don’t know what it is! That is some creativity!

So that is what has been happening with Strong Will Seed! Thank you for reading and hoped you have enjoyed it. Talk to you again at the end of August!

Sincerely, Samsuda
