Elect 1 Cleric and 1 Lay for a 3-year term.

Description of duties: Te Standing Committee meetsabout three times a year and serves as a Council oadvice to the diocesan bishop. Among its responsibili-ties are granting or withholding consents to the electiono bishops throughout the Episcopal Church and inter- viewing seminarians and recommending to the bishopwhether or not they be made candidates or ordination.Te Standing Committee is composed o six persons:three clergy and three lay. In the event that the office obishop is vacant, the Standing Committee serves as theecclesiastical authority or the diocese. Persons servingon the Standing Committee should be amiliar with theConstitution and Canons, aware o issues in the widerAnglican Communion, and be willing to undertake a

wide range o leadership needs and discernment.
