ST3049 - Infrared remote control decoder RC5The main function of the ST3049 is to check and convert thereceived coded data (RC5) into latched binary outputs.Received data with any address will be accepted; thereceived data and address are then outputs.
Accepts RC5 codes with bi-phase transmission (SAA3006,SAA3010, PT2210 and similar transmitters). This chip isfunctionally equivalent to SAA3049 and TDA3048 which are
now discontinued.
CA is command acknowledge pin outputWhen a valid RC5 frame is received and newdata is updated on output, this pin goes low for50ms.
T0 is TOGGLE bit outputThis bit toggles each time a new key is pressed. That allows identifying between holding down a
key and pressing a key twice or more.D0 to D5 are COMMAND bits outputsSix bits of information output on which key ispressed. Up to 64 keys are supported withthese six bits.
A0 to A4 are ADDRESS bits outputsFive address bits outputs (0=TV, 20=CD, ...).
About RC5 ProtocolPhilips adopted or created the RC5 standard that uses fixed bit length and fixed quantity of bits.
Each time you press a button at the Philips remote control, it sends a train of 14 bits, 1.728ms perbit, the whole train is repeated every 130ms if you keep the button pressed. A toggle bit is sent withdata which has information if they key is kept pressed or same key is pressed twice.
