Remembrance Day
We celebrated November 11th, Remembrance Day as a school to celebrate the contributions
of Canadians for our Freedom. Thank you to Ms. Tamburro who led us in a thoughtful Cere-
mony where our students respectively participated and recognized the importance of our
freedom and way of life. The singing was absolutely beautiful thanks to our students their
teachers and the contribution of our school folk choir led by Dr. Bianchi.
Rule Reminders
Nut Free School
We are a peanut and nut free school, please make sure that the nutritious food that you are sending in for
your child for lunch or snack time does not contain any nuts. We need to keep all of our students safe.
Cold Weather, Warm Clothes
Please make sure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather. Whenever possi-
ble we will be out enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Students are to come with mittens, hats, boots and
coats for the cold weather. That fresh air break from the classroom does a great deal to help the students
stay focused and on track with their learning.
Worry Free Wednesdays
Worry Free Wednesdays will continue in the New Year. We will be sending out new order forms in the middle of January as the
last Wednesday covered in the form sent out in September takes place on January 25th. We would like to continue with both the
Pita Pit and Pizza Nova. If you have other ideas for healthy, affordable lunches, please either contact the school or a member of
our Parent Council so that you can share your view.
Drop Off in the Morning
* Please remember to drop off your child and then move your car out of the area so that other parents may park and drop off
their children. Thank you for being respectful of our neighbours and the safety of our students
Pick Up in the Afternoon
* Please stand back from the doorways when picking up your child (and please let all caregivers know). When you have picked up
your child, if you could exit from the play and pick up area, it would be greatly appreciated to lessen the confusion of pick up.

Year of Parish—Promote Your Parish Project As we continue to celebrate our Year of the Parish we want to know what makes your pastor and/or your parish unique. Students are invited to create a short video, or piece of original artwork, write a short story, poem or letter, or express themselves in any way ar-tistically to highlight the relationship that the students have with the local parish and/or the priest/pastor at their church. “Promote Your Parish” and let’s celebrate the many ways that our parishes and our parish priests contribute to our schools and communities. Submit the completed projects via email to parish.project@tcdsb.org. We will be sharing the submissions via the board’s website as well as Twitter. In addition, plans are underway for a showcase of student submissions—videos, art and written pieces—during Catholic Education Week. Watch for more details about that event soon. Deadline for submissions: April 7, 2017 Visit the website for criteria and other details. https://www.tcdsb.org/Board/NurturingOurCatholicCommunity/YearoftheParish/Pages/Parish-Family-Day-Celebration.aspx
