and CANNED MEATS AND FISH.

any collection basket.

“Why are people so noisy with their kneelers. Can you ask them to
be more quiet with them?” I, too, have noticed that some folks are
being careless when they put their kneeler up or down. I think some
may feel the kneeler behind them that has been left up. As they
kneel to pray they may kick it down behind them so their feet won’t
be touching it. I have noticed that St. Mar- tha’s church is one of
the noisiest churches I’ve been assigned to. I don’t mean the
people I mean the building itself. The seats are very noisy and
when you have a full church and everyone sits down or kneels at the
same time there is quite a racket. Even the roof snaps and creaks
from time to time and is It ever scary at night with no lights on!!
There sure is a lot of noise. In fact, you may have even noticed
that I don’t begin my homily or begin the prayers of consecration
until everyone has set- tled down to sitting or kneeling. It’s just
something of which we all need to be conscious. Pleas be mind- ful
that we all need to take it easy with the wood- work! Fr.
Green

Annual Mission Appeal Rev. Basil Cole, OP of the Dominican Friars,
Province of St. Joseph, will preach a Mission Appeal as part of the
Propagation of the Faith’s Missionary Cooperative Plan in St.
Martha Church during masses the weekend of August 2930, 2015. The
Dominican Friars have been serving the people of Kenya for 25
years. Their mission: to preach for the salvation of souls. The
Fri- ars work tirelessly to preach the Truth of Jesus Christ to all
people and are committed to expand native voca- tions among
Africa’s youth. Friars teach, serve in their parish and campus
ministries, and provide pastoral services to those living in one of
the poorest areas of the world. Their missionaries and seminarians
depend on your generous support and are grateful for the op-
portunity to share their vision and work with you.
World Day of Prayer for Care of Creation Tuesday, September 1st is
the World Day of Pray-

"The annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Cre-
ation offers to individual believers and to the commu-
nity a precious opportunity to renew our personal par-
ticipation in this vocation as custodians of creation,
raising to God our thanks for the marvelous works
that He has entrusted to our care, invoking his help
for the protection of creation and his mercy for the
sins committed against the world in which we
live." + Pope Francis in his announcement for the World Day
of
