Stewardship thru 5-28-17 $ unavailable
“..there are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same
Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord;
there are different works but the same God who produces all
of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of
the Spirit is given for some benefit.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Each of us has been given unique talents to share with others.
Time and treasure are similar for everyone - - they only differ
in amounts. The gifts of our talents are the most personal
aspect of our stewardship.

Marriage Moment
“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit.” What is one of your spouse’s strengths? Ok, so we all
have different sacred strengths, BUT do you have the “same Spirit?” Unite yourselves in the spirit of Forgiveness.
Parenting Pointer
1st week in June is National Barefoot Week. Go barefoot with your child this weekend for an hour or a day. Feel the
grass, dirt, stones, or pavement under your feet and delight in it together.

Acts 2:1-11; Ps 104:1, 24, 29-30, 31, 34;
1 Cor 12:3b-7, 12-13; Jn 20:19-23
If you take away their breath, they perish and return
to their dust. When you send forth your spirit, they
are created, and you renew the face of the earth.
Psalm 104:29-30
This psalm reveals the mystery of how our world is being
transformed. The breath of God has given us life and keeps
us alive. God renews the earth when the Spirit is sent forth
through our daily living.
I actually took a breath as I read the psalm—or more like a
gasp of breath. God renews creation and transforms the
ordinary into extraodinary through our lives! Sounds huge,
as if we should be able to see, taste, smell, feel and hear a
gaint change as war, poverty and mean-spirtitedness
disappear.
I admit that I notice little changes each day, don't you?
Before I speak to someone or begin a conversation I’m
afraid of having, I pray, “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts
of your faithful..” And then, I notice a significant change—
in me. God takes care of the rest.
Lord Jesus, send out your Spirit and renew the face of the
earth.

Church History Study
The Catholic Church began as a small band of supporters following the teachings of an itinerant preacher in
an outpost of the Roman Empire. From there, the Church expanded both its size and its importance in the
grand scheme of Western history. Consider that the Catholic Church: --steered Western civilization through
historical events such as the fall of the Roman Empire, the Dark Ages, the Crusades, and the Reformation; --
influenced the political ideas and actions of powerful leaders in a variety of European nations; --made deep
contributions to the Western philosophical tradition through the works of religious
philosophers such as St. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas; --funded and inspired the
creation of fantastic works of religious art and literature, such as northern Europe's
Gothic cathedrals, Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, and Dante's Divine Comedy and
much more. Today, the church is the oldest continuously active organization on
Earth and one of the most influential institutions in the world—a force capable of
moving armies, inspiring saints, and shaping the lives of a billion members.
Come join us for this interesting study in the Maloney Room of Flaget Hall on
Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 each week. Study materials will cost about
$33.00 for the 20 session series. Call 348-3126 now to register so materials may be
ordered and ready for you to pick up in July. Sessions will begin August 17 .
Discover Your Inheritance—Tuesday evening Bible Study
Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gifts that we as Christians are given in the Church. This
letter tells us about the nature of the Church – as a body, as a household, as a mystery, as a communion, as a
bride, and as an army. It shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters, adopted fully into
the family of God. It reveals how God’s great love for us can transform our
daily lives if we allow it. Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance is an 8-part
Bible study that will enrich your faith, and show you how to live it out. In this
study, you will: Discover what it means to be not just a son or daughter of
God, but an heir to all God has to give. Learn about the great mystery of how
we can love one another as Christ loves the Church. Find out that you have a
place in God’s “plan of sheer goodness".
The Tuesday evening Bible Study group meets in the Maloney Room of Flaget
Hall from 6:30 to 8:30. Sessions will begin September 5th. The cost of study
materials will be $25.00. Please reserve your place now so that materials can
be ordered and ready for pick up in early July.
Sessions will begin on September 5 . Please call the 348-3126 to register.
It’s That Time Again!
If you know of anyone interested in joining our Catholic Faith, NOW IS THE TIME to invite
them to give us a call. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) sessions will be held
weekly in the Maloney Room of Flaget Hall.
Please call Robin Leake at 348-3126 ext# 111
