PALM SUNDAY OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD MARCH 25, 2018
Dear Parishioners,
The Ticking Clock
Every day, we are reminded that life can change in
a heartbeat. People’s plans and dreams are
interrupted unexpectedly due to accidents or
illnesses. Every moment has value, and we should
never let one pass by unnoticed.
Jesus can relate. Crowds lined the streets, welcoming and singing to their local boy who did good.
Suddenly, however, everything changed. An associate sold him out for thirty coins. Those close to him
fell asleep at the time he most needed their support. His prized disciple, the “rock;” the one who boasted
of his loyalty, disowned him--not once, not twice, but three times.
Live in the moment. Tell your loved ones how much you treasure them. Appreciate all you have. If
you’re not happy with your life, make changes. It’s never too late. Begin each day with these simple
words: “Thank you, God!” He’s given you a gift - a new day, a fresh start. Savor it. The clock is ticking.
Prayer
Dear Lord, I know life doesn’t stop and wait for anyone. Help me to live it moment by moment. Amen.
God Bless,
Msgr. J. Riccardo
The Three Practices of Lent: Praying, Fasting. Almsgiving

Please remember that all gifts, regardless of the
size are important, needed, and appreciated. Thank you
for your support!

LENTEN REGULATIONS
Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays of Lent, and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat for those 14 years of age and older. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are also days of fasting for those ages 18 to 58 inclusive. On those days, those bound by the law of fasting may take one full meal and two smaller meals. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and fruit juices, are allowed. When health or work is seriously affected, the law does not oblige.
EASTER FLOWERS
Anyone wishing to make a donation toward the flowers for Easter may still do so. If you wish to make your donation in memory of a loved one, please write his or her name on the envelope. In order to be included on the memorial list, which will be posted on Easter, please have your donations in to the office by Wednesday.
LENTEN RETREAT FINALE
Join us for a Question and Answer Forum with Monsignor Riccardo on Thursday, April 5th, at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Refreshments will be served. You don’t want to miss this! Remember to submit your questions to your facilitator before Holy Thursday.
FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
The Passion of Jesus makes it clear, no one escapes suffering. Suffering is inevitable, but no one should suffer alone. That is one of the primary roles of families, to stand with and support each other in suffering.

Dear Parishioner,
As the Season of Lent draws to its conclusion, we enter upon the
Solemn days of Holy Week. The Father summons us to walk with Jesus as
He ascends the hill of Calvary in His great act of love for us - The
Redemption.
We invite you to join with us in the beautiful Liturgies of Holy Week,
that the glory of Easter may be more full, more meaningful. May the joy and
peace which the first Christians felt as they looked upon the Risen Jesus be
yours on Easter and in the months ahead.

We will be reading
“The Holy Longing” by Ronald Rolheiser for our April meeting. This book is published by Doubleday and
can be purchased new or used at Amazon.com. On the flyleaf of the book we read: “This book is for those searching to understand what Christian spirituality means and how to apply it to their own life…At the core of this very readable, deeply revealing book is an explanation of God and the Church in a world that more often than not doubts the credibility of both.”
Our meeting will be held on Thursday, April 19th at 6:30pm in the Meeting Room. All are welcome to come and discuss this book.
