The regions close to our operations are dominated with agriculture farming as a source of income, ourinterventions are directed towards improving the farmers' incomes and resource ef�iciency. OurSodaAshPlantatSutrapadacreatedhistorybyachievingalltimehighestproductionof9,36,972MTintheyear2017–2018.

Being respectful to nature – Reclamation work at our mining location

GHCL has two mining locations from where we deriveresourcestobeusedforourbusiness.TheseareLimestonemines and the Lignite mine both located in Bhavnagardistrict,Gujarat.

ChemicalgradelimestoneisoneofthebasicrawmaterialrequiredformanufacturingofSodaash.Thischemical grade limestone is found along the coastal belt of Saurashtra extending from Dwarka toBhavnagarwithinrangeof30to40Kmsinlandfromseaandismadeupoffossilmilliola.

GHCLhas14miningleasescoveringanareaof619hects.outofwhich12mining lease are under operation. We have completely mined out andreclaimedabout385hectsoflandback�illedbyundersizeandmadetheareasuitable for plantation or pit �loor cultivation. About 55 hects has beenconvertedintopondwhererunoffwaterduringrainyseasongotcollected.Thiswaterhelptorechargegroundwaterandalsousedforplantationandirrigation.

AtourKhadsaliyaLigniteMine, theGeologicalreserveof themine is7.8millionMTandextractablereserveis6.82millionMTasperapprovedmineplanfromMinistryofCoal,Govt.ofIndiaanduptocompletionof�inancialyear2017-18.

Intheselocales,wearecontinuouslytryingtorevivethelandbyre�illingtheareaextracted.Underthereclamationprogramforthearea,greenbeltisdevelopedinthede-coaledareabyregularlyplantingsamplings

Smalleffortscanbringaboutbigchange.Withthisbeliefwearetryingtocontributefromourendtothenaturebyputtingoureffortstomaintainthebalancebyrevivingthenaturalresourcesagain.
