Purpose of small scale research

• Research will be done before and after each short term meeting (Austria, Norway, etc.)

• It will mainly serve as a tool for internal evaluation (have we met our goals?)

• It will also serve as an intellectual output that is beyond plagiarism and upgrades the quality of the results

Research questions

• 1st research question: Do students know what internet addiction is about? We will also check for awareness.

• 2nd research question: Have students experienced internet addiction?

• 3nd research question: Do students know what to do if they (or their friends) experience this?

Synopsis of student’s profile• From all 5 countries, a few more from Greece and

Norway• Mostly 15-16 years old (51%), many (42%) a bit

older 17-18• Girls 49%, boys 51%• 91% use the internet daily or many times a day• They mostly access the internet at home (80%)

and anywhere (76%)• 31% spend 1-2 hours, 43% 2-5 h, 18% over 5h

expected and the counted values of the answers of students from different countries in question 1.4 about internet usage:

• Students from Norway and Sweden use the internet much more than average, more for students from Austria, average for Poland and less for Greece (X2 =123.996, df=12, p=.000)
