We will focus on two of the four main skills:

Listening and Reading• We will look at question types from the exam and how best to

tackle answering them.• Listening to near-native recordings and thinking about how to

answer samples of the listening examination • Analysing texts from the main textbook as well as using other

material I will bring in• We will look at exam techniques like skimming and scanning for

reading and how to spot ‘distractor’ questions in listening tasks

Additionally…There will be a chance to present a lecture or discussion of your own.

Reading Paper – 40 questions in one hour

Listening Paper – 40 questions in 30 minutes + 10 minutes reading time
