La Hoya or Foia de Castalla is a natural depression surrounded by mountains with an average altitude of 650 meters above sea level. The municipalities that compose it are four: Ibi, Tibi, Castalla and Onil, totaling 41,729 people according to INE data for 2006.

From mid-twentieth century the main economic activity became the industry, especially the manufacture of toys.

Traditional industries that have been and are the basis of industrial development are the dolls, toys

and industries asociated.

In our region predominates small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Slow enterprises Medium enterprises.

The most important factories undertaking are FAMOSONA, ACTIU, and PUERTAS CASTALLA.
