Art or Poetry

Poetry• Swirling blue, fading green• The color of my bounty• As wide as I am• I run along the land, a precious resource• A priceless treasure• the marine life is my child,• each life a story of survival, each one special• and yet, they are disappearing• each light of life, gone• And they aren’t the only ones being affected• For as precious as I am• I am taken for granted• even now, the waves of my hair• are being soiled• by the grease of your excretions• and as I walk the banks• my feet are being pierced • by the shards of your litter• I am losing my body, the animals• are fleeting• and the survivors are swimming• to their deaths• my arms are bound• by your nets and fishing• my former beauty is• slowly fading• release me from this bond• set me free, and • help me to heal.
