High quality sonar with concurrent all-round anti-submarine warfare surveillanceand self-protection to carry out escort, harassment and prosecution in littoral waters.HighperformanceinlittoralenvironmentExcellent performance against submarines particularly in harsh conditions such as littoral waters.Self-protectionagainstmultiplethreatsPrimarily ASW capability with simultaneous early torpedo warning. Complementary underwater obstacle/mine-like avoidance capability.RobustandeasytointegrateLightweight and compact sonar that easily fits with virtually any platform and combat system.CooperativeassetAccurate target positioning to prosecute and engage distant submarines with airborne assets. Capable of multi-static operation with most current low frequency sonars in operation world-wide.ReducedoperatorworkloadUser-friendly, state-of-the-art Human Computer Interface. Same look & feel as CAPTAS VDS for high interoperability.MammalssafeAdjustable source level and noise monitoring for sea mammal protection.LowLifeCycleCostLarge installed base and continuous evolutions for inherent customer’s long term support.

OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

KINGKLIP is particularly efficient to detect submarines in roughsea states and coastal/littoral waters, where difficult reverberationconditions prevail.

It complements a CAPTAS Variable Depth Sonar to provide goodcoverage above & below the thermal layer.

MAIN CHARACTERISTICSSystem features:

• Designed for small to medium size Surface Combatant

• Compact and lightweight cylindrical array installed inside anacoustically transparent dome (keel mounted)

• Provides ASW all-round surveillance

• Several transmit configurations allowing operation with two shipsin the same area

• Integrated On-Board-Training capability

• Embedded bathythermograph & performance prediction functionfor sonar optimisation

• Comprehensive Built-in Test capability

Options:

• Can be operated either from CMS consoles or stand-alone

• Underwater telephone capability

• Powerful ASW Sonar Suite when integrated with CAPTAS VDS
