Who I Am

Why make use of tools?• Efficiency!• Community engagement!• Analytics!

Official Tools

• Facebook analytics• Twitter Ads = analytics• Tumblr analytics• Pinterest analytics• Advertising WORKS

• Facebook Pages• Twitter apps• Pinterest apps• Tumblr apps

Oh my gosh!

Hootsuite• Allows you to compose and post messages

across multiple social media platforms.• Offers scheduling (including Auto Schedule)

features for all posts.• Can create multiple tabs and streams to allow

monitoring of hash tags, mentions, lists, and more.

Hootsuite Cautions• AutoSchedule is nice, but live tweets are always

important.• Always double-check times on AutoScheduled

posts.• What works well on one social media account

won’t always work well on another.• Some features require a paid account.

Tweetdeck• Official Twitter tool that allows for many of the

same features as Hootsuite, but for Twitter only.

• Better retweet features than Hootsuite.• One of the best ways to do live tweet sessions.

Tweetdeck Cautions• Can’t schedule anything with an image.• Using Tweetdeck + Hootsuite? Watch out for

scheduling things on top of other things.

If This Then That (IFTTT)• Automate the internet by creating recipes to

perform various functions.• Can completely streamline posts made across

multiple social media platforms.• MASSIVE amount of supported tools.• Big community that shares recipes.

IFTTT Cautions• New tool – updates often and can result in

broken rules.• Be ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENT about content –

otherwise can have a serious problem down the road.

hastagify.me & hashtags.org• When used together, can provide a lot of

insight into hashtags.• Also provides historical information and makes

researching new hashtags (such as for a program) very easy.

• Find related hashtags to specific topics.

hastagify.me & hashtags.org Cautions• Nothing works like knowing the community

yourself.• ALWAYS look at actual tweets before using a

hashtag, to be sure of content.• Remember: hashtags are not universal.
