Royce Lovett just signed a recording contract with Motown Gospel. But if you ever heard
Royce Lovett’s music, you would assume he was signed to a mainstream label like Def Jam, or
Universal. This is because Royce creates great songs with soulful singing and razor sharp rap
lyrics. However, Royce is not ashamed of his faith and lifestyle of worship. He refuses to
speak in codes to declare his faith, belief in love, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. He actu-
ally quotes scripture when playing music in night clubs and bars, because the music sounds
good to both believers and non-believers alike. As a result, most of his fans cannot define
Royce Lovett by one genre of music alone. He is possibly the next transcendent figure in
music to blur the lines of Billboard categories with Crossover tunes that are ready for airplay
on mainstream and gospel radio. According to his original biography, Royce grew up with
music surrounding him. His mother, Rosa, was the worship leader at church, and she intro-
duced him to Christian worship bands like Hillsong, while also influencing his tastes with art-
ists such as Michael Jackson. At the age of 15, Royce was starving for more music as his tastes
turned to the styles of hip-hop and neo-soul. He later began to find increasing inspiration
from artists like Musiq Soulchild, Soup The Chemist, Lauren Hill and The Fugees. Royce
learned how to play the guitar, and the combination of these events made him realize his tal-
ent and passion for music. In a recent interview Royce explained, “Besides Hillsong, I was
mostly into rap and battle rapping with friends. But as my musical tastes grew I fell in love
with the art of songwriting and Lauren Hill’s unplugged music, which influenced me to pick up
a guitar.” Currently, Royce is in his mid-twenties, resides in Tallahassee, Florida with his wife,
Hannah and two-year-old son, Levi. Royce has toured the East and West coast of the US,
South America and Europe with overwhelming success, bringing him international coverage.
After recently signing a Record Deal he is expected to begin working with A&R’s from the
label on what is sure to be something completely new and special from Motown Gospel. His
style is a grand mash up of alternative hip-hop, soul, and singer-songwriter. Did we forget to
mention Gospel? Certainly not, because, all of these elements are combined with his Chris-
tian roots to convey the same message, without the same sound. He writes and composes all
of his material and they feature a wide variety of topics, but mostly meditate on love in all
forms, from friendly love, to love for your brother, or romantic love. As fate would have it,
Royce met his current manager Steven Jennings during the fall of 2013 in Tallahassee Florida.
Steven is a former Hip-Hop TV show producer, a published author and an entrepreneur with
over 13 years of experience working with musical artists. Steven had recently accepted a
contract position at Preach The Word Worldwide Network or PTWWN for short, which is
a Christian TV network based in the Leon County Florida area. The position called Steven to
work with their TV show, America’s Got Anointing, which is a gospel talent competition. He
analyzed the TV show format and realized, the show needed something added to it that was
worth winning. So Steven decided to try and gain the interest of several major gospel record
labels. He eventually contacted the A&R department at Motown Gospel, who put him in
touch with a Digital Marketing Specialist, named Cameron Hilson. After requesting additional
information, Steven was able to sign a contract between Cameron and PTWWN. Steven be-

gan to hear about Royce from various people at work and around town while he was auditioning
artists for the show. After actually hearing Royce’s music and seeing his videos, Steven was so im-
pressed he reached out to him, eventually arranging to meet him in person. Steven recommended
Royce for the audition but PTWWN didn’t think he would be a good fit for the show, because his
sound was not traditional or contemporary gospel. But at the last moment, Royce was asked to
come to the final audition. As planned, Cameron Hilson was flown in to Tallahassee from Nashville
to judge the event. But when Royce showed up, something incredible happened. Steven asked
Royce to “play the song that brings the house down.” Royce gladly complied, playing “Hero Song”
and “Tell Me About It” bringing everyone at the event to their feet. The energy in the room was so
powerful, so memorable, it was a surreal moment. Cameron fell in love with Royce immediately,
arranging to have him flown in to meet executives at Motown Gospel. When Royce showed up in
Nashville with his guitar, he rocked the house at Motown Gospel, performing for the President of
the label and other executives, eventually securing a contract with them. Cameron went on to
start his own company, Propeller Media Group, but he has remained in contact with Steven and
Royce and offers continued support and mentorship. Steven went on to create his own website
entitled BestArtistRep.com, which focuses on A&R services, Public Relations and Marketing. Cam-
eron and Steven both experienced something special together, and it is a bond that binds them
forever. They discovered Royce Lovett, although Royce was not hard to find. Some might say he
will be a transcendent figure, destined to change the rules of the music industry. But ask Royce if
he is up for the challenge and he will surely flash a boyish grin, and nod his head in approval. Listen
to his music, take a moment to learn about him, and you too will encounter something new and
special in music. You will discover the artist, and talented musician, Royce Lovett.

Sweet Erotic Interlude
(1) My sweet erotic interlude,
my finest wine,
exotic food.
With cherry sauce and whipping
cream,
we laugh,
we cry,
our passions scream.
We interlock with warm embrace,
I kiss her tears, but hate the taste.
We hear no noise,
we laugh and play.
Do not disturb our getaway.
Secluded spots and island breeze,
our eyes are drifting, searching seas.
We play slow music and set the
mood,
my sweet erotic interlude.
(2) Her touch, her kiss,
I shall not miss.
We took a vow,
now she's my Mrs.
A second honeymoon de-
scribed.
So blessed each day we share
our lives.
The rolling seas they tip and
turn.
This morning love,
our hearts have yearned.
The housemaid knocks,
she thinks we're rude.
Our sweet erotic interlude.

Tragic Butterfly
She was the twinkle in my eye,
she was Ms. Tragic Butterfly.
She Gucci-Prada-Fendi-Fly,
she made a tear fall from my eye.
I saw her in the streets and why?
She used to be high in the sky?
She graced the TV screens and eyes.
She heard the truth and many lies.
I hoped to GOD she wouldn’t die,
and right before the public's eyes.
The cameras clicked, did tabloids lie?
She was Ms. Tragic Butterfly.
