Project Description

• The installation of 14 EVSE’s.

• The project was funded through a grant from DOE which was implemented by Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).

3

Project Description

• The funding requirements were to test the newly commercialized Smart Grid technology.

• Functional requirements: to confirm readiness for direct load control, energy monitoring, and interoperability.

4

Project Information

Project completion date: July 2013Project cost: $236,000

EVSE installation locations:• Parking Lot 1, has 3 units• Parking Structure 1, has 4 units• Parking Structure 2, has 7 units

5

Project Description continued

• Sac State had a requirement to charge a fee for service for each charging event of the EVSE’s.

Prerequisites:• This project required development of a

Demand Response Management System (DRMS) by SMUD.
