A dream is a wish your heart makes, but a goal is a dream with a deadline.

SMART goals are

Realistic

Timely

Specific goals answer the questions:

What am I you going to do? Why do I want to do it? How am I going to do it?

Use positive action words – read, study, ask, earn, increase…

On the handout you need to write a SMART goal you would like to accomplish this school year (long-term). It can be academic, social or behavioral.

Stick up for peers who are treated poorly by classmates on the playground whenever I feel safe doing so this year.

Raise my hand at least once in every social studies class this semester.

Earn an A is Science and an O for effort all 4 quarters.
