The visual appearance and attractiveness of towns and cities is strongly influenced by its green space. A high quality built environment, the buildings, roads and public spaces, cannot alone ensure that a town or city is an attractive and appealing place to live and work. The landscape of parks and green space contribute as much to the qualityof the urban environment as good architecture.

Why Green Landscape is Important?

Having an even balance to hardscapes and landscapes can create the best of both worlds.

Encourage positive impression that is good place to study ,work and live.

Attract the interest of visitors

The image and attractiveness of Taylor’s

University Lakeside Campus strongly influence people‘s

perceptions of a place.

Convenient for Passengers

People's Opinions (Strengths)

Majority of the students - greenery view of the roundabout area – comfortable - breath in fresh air - morning.

Strengths•Roundabouts were built to save cost and save space. •Roundabouts were built there because it were nearest to Admission Centre and Boardwalk.

•R oundabout area serve as main entrance.•Plant taller plants to cover the imperfect.

Weaknesses•No corridor between guard house to campus•Skylight of corridor is transparent.

•The narrow vehicle path will lead to traffic congestion during the peak hour.•The smaller roundabout with fountain is plain.

Opportunities

• Build corridor between campus to guard house

• Open another drop off and pick up session near by the academic block

• Extend the skylight of corridor and apply 70 % sun block on the skylight

Threats•The amount of cars increase gradually year by year -- busy & heavy traffic congestion.

•The wind will carry the rain into the skylight corridor -- shelter provided is useless during the heavy rain.•Student who cannot find a parking lot will just simply park their car at clamping zone, thus it blocked part of the road and causes traffic jam
