MEANING
Simple Past Tense Tense that used for showing the activities and
occasions that happened in the past.
FORMULAE
Active : ( + ) S + V II + O + Comp
( - ) S + did not + V I + O + Comp
( ? ) Did + S + V I + O + Comp ?
Passive : ( + ) S + was/were + V III + O + Comp
( - ) S + was/were not + V III + O + Comp
( ? ) Was/were + S + V III + O + Comp ?
EXPLANATION
There are 2 kinds of subjection in the Simple Past Tense : Subject as the doer (for active form) Subject as the receiver (for passive form)
There are 2 to-bes in the Simple Past Tense for the passive form :
Was I, She, He, It, & Singular Pronoun Were You, We, They, & Plural Pronoun

There are 2 complements in the Simple Past Tense : Complements of place (School, house, beach, etc) Complements of time (yesterday, last week, 2 months ago,
etc)
