History

• Historians said that the origin of silk comes from China ( Around 10,000 years ago ). The evolution of the production of silk hasn’t change too much. At first, silk was used for instruments. The silk has been always very expensive to buy, only people with enough money could afford it.

Properties and characteristics.

• Silk has unique properties this are some of them:

Strength, Elasticity, Resilience, Drapability, Heat Conductivity, Absorbency, easy to clean, it reacts to acids, Effect of Heat and light, very Resistant.

Aplications

• Silk is mostly use for producing clothes of high quality as: lingerie, ties or dresses.

• As it is very good for insulating it is also use for sophisticated devices such as space vessels.

Producers

• The main producers of silk around the world are mostly in Asia, this countries are: China, Japan, Thailand, Inidia, Brasil, Uzberkisthan.
