As obtaining new water sources for the fracking process becomes more difficult and unpopular due to regulations and other obstacles, recycling produced water and flowback water generated at the drill site
becomes more of a necessity.
TIGG’s mobile frac water treatment trailers can travel between drill sites, recycling water at the source. This helps minimize the volume of fresh and produced water that needs to be transported by tanker truck, reducing local vehicle traffic.
We’ve even constructed cutting-edge, automated treatment trailers with built-in telemetry that allows users to remotely access the system via computer.
Off-site operators in other locations can start up and shut down the recycling process as well as monitor and adjust flow rates.
TIGG’s water treatment trailer flow rates range from 50 to 100 gpm. The enclosed mobile systems can also include insulation, heating and lighting for all-weather operations.
A typical TIGG trailer consists of either bag filtration units or multi-media filters to remove suspended solids. Ity can also contain a vessel containing Organo Clay to remove free product from water.
After that, the liquid stream enters an activated carbon adsorption vessel, to treat dissolved organics. Finally, the water moves through a vessel filled with activated alumina for metals removal.

Mobile treatment trailers include multi-tiered adsorption and filtration systems.
The EPA uses its TIGG Trailer for groundwater remediation.
As an equipment supplier to the fracking industry drove past TIGG’s Heber Springs Ark. plant one day, he noticed a large number of high-quality steel tanks being prepared for shipment. This gave him an
idea—have TIGG build tanks for his product line of frac water transportation trailers.
Working to the client’s specifications, TIGG built (100) 5’ x 40’ tanks that were then trailer-mounted and mobilized. Currently, TIGG-manufactured tanks haul frac water and produced water to and from drill sites across the country.
Water Tank Specifications:
• Custom Engineered and Built• Capacity: 130 Barrels• Compartment: Single• Shell: ¼” Plate x 60” OD• Welds: Submerged – Arc• Interior Baffles• Stiffeners: external rings• Manways: (3) 25” on top with

Mud Tanks
A large drilling fluids firm that caters to the shale gas industry utilizes TIGG tanks to store and mix its lubricating mud. We built five, 10’ x 40’ mud tanks and mounted them on skids.
Because custom blending is key to the client’s product, TIGG incorporated an internal mixing system to ensure a consistent blend that’s ideal for the drill site.

Multi-Media Filtration System
When frac flowback and produced water reach the point where recycling
needs to come before reuse, TIGG has the water reclamation expertise to remove dissolved and suspended solids to acceptable levels.
Whether skid-mounted or mobile, TIGG liquid phase adsorption systems can handle up to 700 gpm. This allows well operators to treat frac flowback pit water at a rate of approximately one million gallons a day.
TIGG’s liquid phase multi-media filters and activated carbon adsorption vessels can be combined with other technologies to produce a complete integrated frac water reclamation system.
Integrated Systems:
• Activated carbon vessels for adsorption of organics and multi-media and bag filters for solids removal.
• Oil / Water separators followed by pumps, oil absorption media and activated carbon adsorbers.
• Air pre-heaters followed by activated carbon adsorbers • Air filters, dampers, & blowers followed by activated carbon adsorbers
TIGG has a large, in-stock inventory of liquid phase adsorption vessels at its producton facility in Heber Springs, Ark. and also at it’s Oakdale, Pa. warehouse and headquarters. The Pennsylvania location is in the heart of Marcellus Shale country, reducing shipping costs and delivery times.
Our in-house engineers can work with you to design an integrated water recycling system to meet your exact needs. All of our equipment is quality tested and is available for purchase or ready to rent.

TIGG-Treo FiltersFiltration, Transport Tanks & Storage Vessels for Shale Gas Operations
Multi-Media Filtration System
The TIGG Treo multi-media filtration system removes suspended solids from water. What makes this three-vessel system unique is that it eliminates the added expense of a backwash pump and backwash water
holding tank.
Not only does this system reduce costs, it saves on valuable real estate at the job site. Instead of a backwash holding tank, the TIGG Treo uses the effluent from two of its vessels to flush the third.
The heart of the TIGG Treo is its specially designed valve rack system.
This innovative design allows for the sequential backwashing of each individual vessels.
The Treo can be used as a stand-alone system to remove particulates from water or as pre-treatment for other processes.
Various media particle sizes are selected for differing filtration goals and capacities.

Case StudiesFor Recycling Flowback and Produced Water at Shale Gas Sites
35 Years of Success Stories
TIGG built its business on manufacturing steel vessels primarily for liquid and vapor phase purification. With more than 35 years of success stories…here are a few.
Groundwater Remediation System at the Newark Airport:
When the Port Authority of NY and NJ needed to treat groundwater containing jet fuel at the Newark Airport, TIGG designed a groundwater treatment system enclosed in a heated, insulated trailer so it could be moved to other locations as needed. The 25 gpm treatment system met the tough NJ Effluent standards and was capable of operating during the winter months without freezing.
PCB Removal at an East Coast Power Plant:
A Power Plant needed PCB removal help in a hurry. One of its transformers leaked and contaminated water in a lagoon with PCBs. Friday afternoon, the utility’s consultant contacted TIGG and requested a rush delivery of two standard 200 gpm carbon adsorption units. TIGG delivered the skid-mounted units on Saturday and the system was online Sunday. The quick response saved the utility $50,000 per day in fines.
Former Manufactured Gas Plant in the Bronx, NY:
When a Former MGP site required cleanup,we provided an oil/water separator, surge tank, pump, bag filters, and two activated carbon adsorbers capable of treating 200 gpm. The entire integrated remediation system was trailer mounted and enclosed for protection from the weather.
