From everyone here at WaterAid, thank you for your incredible efforts and continued generosity. Your support really does transform lives.
Since it was established by the UK water industry in 1981, WaterAid and our partners have helped more than 21 million people access safe water and 18 million people access improved toilets. With your continued support we believe everyone, everywhere can have clean water by 2030.
That’s enough to build 406 handpumps in Ethiopia
It costs just £38 a day to train a water pump attendant
Last year we reached 177,000 people in Ethiopia with clean water
More than 44 million people are still living without safe, clean water
Thanks to the new waterpoints in Borkora, Ethiopia, children like Emama no longer have to make the difficult walk to collect water from the stream at the bottom of the hill.
Families also have water for their crops during the dry season – vital for a farming community like Borkora.
