A common space like a family room means parents can

supervise and help you

If you must share a work space or work near siblings…

ask your parents to help keep noise to a minimum

Inform your family when you need quiet to concentrate

Put away anything that might distract you from your work

Desk and chair

Printer and scanner

Bookshelf for text books & binders

A good light source to avoid strained eyes

Bulletin or Memo board to keep track of notes and lists

Binders or notebooks Taking notes is always a good idea!

Keep school supplies well stocked so you have them when you need them.

Keep your most used items within easy reach

Tidy up at the end of each day so you are ready to go the next day

Get rid of garbage near your work space

Find a place for loose papers and supplies

Don’t let your space get out of control!

It’s much easier to work when your learning space is organized!

A good working environment will help you have

a successful year of learning!
