Narrow Little RoadI believe in the love of God

It is an orphan’s wildest dream

It is a narrow little road

It is an ever-widening desert stream

Oh I, and I, I will leave this road

For the narrow

(x2)

It is portrayed in the bread and wine

Let it fortify my bones

It is more than just a sign

It is the fountain from the desert stone

Oh I, and I, I will leave this road

For the narrow

(x2)

The love of God is the hymn of hope

Let the needy join the throng

Let the fallen take the rope

Let the cripple rise to sing the song

Oh I, and I, I will leave this road

For the narrow

(x2)

It is the path where the humble go

It is the narrow not the broad

It is the pathway up the hill

To the graveyard of the living God

Oh I, and I, I will leave this road

For the narrow

(x3)

O Sacred Head, Now Wounded

O Sacred Head, now wounded,

With grief and shame weighed down,

Now scornfully surrounded

with thorns, Thine only crown.

How pale art Thou with anguish,

with sore abuse and scorn!

Oh how your face bears sorrow

which once was bright as morn.

Men mock and taunt and jeer Thee,

Thou noble countenance,Though mighty worlds shall fear Thee

and flee before Thy glance.

Grim death, with cruel rigor,

hath robbed Thee of Thy life; Thus Thou has lost Thy vigor,

Thy strength, in this sad strife.

You bled by our hands. You bled by our hands.

You bled by our hands. You bled.

My burdens You have carried,

My sins You have borne.

For it was my transgression

That brought this woe and scorn.

I cast me down before Thee,

Wrath my rightful lot,

But You who have sweet mercy –

Redeemer on the cross.

You bled by our hands. You bled by our hands.

You bled by our hands. You bled.

(x2)

For me. For you. For us.

(x3)

When soul and body languish,

Oh, leave me not alone,

But take away mine anguish

By virtue of Thine own!

What language shall I borrow

To thank Thee, dearest Friend,

For this, Thy dying sorrow,

Thy pity without end?

Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder

Let us love and sing and wonder,

Let us praise the Savior’s name.

He has hushed the law’s loud thunder,

He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame.

Let us love the Lord Who bought us,

Pitied us when enemies.

Called us by His Grace and taught us,

Gave us ears and gave us eyes.

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He presents us whole to God.

Let us wonder grace and justice,

Join and point to mercy’s store.

When through grace in Christ our trust is,

Justice smiles and asks no more.

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He presents us whole to God.

Let us praise and join the chorus,

Of the saints enthroned on high.

Here they trusted Him before us,

Now their praises fill the sky.

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He presents us whole to God.

Let us wonder grace and justice,

Join and point to mercy’s store.

When through grace in Christ our trust is,

Justice smiles and asks no more.

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He has washed us with his blood

He presents us whole to God.

Ecclesiastes 6:1-12 “Eating the Profits”

Sermon notes @ http://bible.com/e/1F52

Ecclesiastes 6:1-12There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, and it lies heavy on mankind: 2 a man to whom God gives wealth,

possessions, and honor, so that he lacks nothing of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to enjoy them, but

a stranger enjoys them. This is vanity; it is a grievous evil. 3 If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many

years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life's good things, and he also has

no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

4 For it comes in vanity and goes in darkness, and in darkness its name is covered. 5 Moreover, it has not seen the sun or known anything, yet it finds rest rather than he.6 Even

though he should live a thousand years twice over, yet enjoy no good—do not all go to the one place?

7 All the toil of man is for his mouth, yet his appetite is not satisfied. 8 For what advantage has the wise man over the

fool? And what does the poor man have who knows how to conduct himself before the living? 9 Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the appetite: this also is vanity

and a striving after wind.

.10 Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he. 11 The more words, the more vanity,

and what is the advantage to man? 12 For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life,

which he passes like a shadow? For who can tell man what will be after him under the sun?

Ecclesiastes 6:1-3There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, and it lies heavy on mankind: 2 a man to whom God gives wealth,

years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life's good things, and he also has

Ecclesiastes 6:4-6

4 For it comes in vanity and goes in darkness, and in darkness its name is covered. 5 Moreover, it has not seen the sun or known anything, yet it finds rest rather than he.6 Even

though he should live a thousand years twice over, yet enjoy no good—do not all go to the one place?

Ecclesiastes 6:7-9

7 All the toil of man is for his mouth, yet his appetite is not satisfied. 8 For what advantage has the wise man over the

fool? And what does the poor man have who knows how to conduct himself before the living? 9 Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the appetite: this also is vanity

and a striving after wind.

.Ecclesiastes 6:10-12

10 Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he. 11 The more words, the more vanity,

and what is the advantage to man? 12 For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life,

Gospel Application:1) Are we content in all circumstances and

if not, what would it take? 2) Do we work for Jesus because we are

satisfied in Him? 3)How will the Gospel cause us to extend the right hand of fellowship to the world

around us by enjoying God and welcoming others into our lives?

Do this in remembrance of me…

2 Corinthians 9:7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion,

for God loves a cheerful giver.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26For I received from the Lord what I also

delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and

when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this

in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup

is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of

me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's

death until he comes.

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

How deep the Father’s love for us –

How vast beyond all measure –

That He should give His only Son

To make a wretch His treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss –

The Father turns His face away –

As wounds which mar the chosen One

Bring many sons to glory!

Behold the Man upon a cross –

My sin upon His shoulders –

Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,

Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there

Until it was accomplished.

His dying breath has brought me life.

I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything

No gifts, no power, no wisdom

But I will boast in Jesus Christ

His death and resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward?

I cannot give an answer,

But this I know with all my heart:

His wounds have paid my ransom.

Why should I gain from His reward?

I cannot give an answer,

But this I know with all my heart:

His wounds have paid my ransom.

Come Thou FountCome, Thou Fount of every blessing,

Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;Streams of mercy, never ceasing,

Call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet,

Sung by flaming tongues above.Praise His name - I’m fixed upon it -

Name of God’s redeeming love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer;

hither by Thy help I’ve come;

And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,

safely to arrive at home.

Jesus sought me when a stranger,

Wandering from the fold of God;He, to rescue me from danger,

Interposed His precious blood;

O to grace how great a debtor,

Daily I’m constrained to be!Let Thy goodness, like a shackle;

Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,

Prone to leave the God I love;

Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,

Seal it for Thy courts above.

Oh, that day when freed from sinning,

I shall see Thy lovely face.

Full arrayed in blood-washed linen,

How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace.

Come, my Lord, no longer tarry;

Bring Thy promises to pass

For I know Thy power will keep me

‘Til I’m home with Thee at last.

For I know Thy power will keep me

‘Til I’m home with Thee at last.

Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us

Savior, like a shepherd lead us,

much we need Thy tender care;

In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,

for our use Thy folds prepare.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

We are Thine, do Thou befriend us,

be the guardian of our way;

Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,

seek us when we go astray.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Thou hast promised to receive us,

poor and sinful though we be;

Thou hast mercy to relieve us,

grace to cleanse and power to free.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Let us early turn to Thee.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Let us early turn to Thee.

Early let us seek Thy favor,

early let us do Thy will;

Blessed Lord and only Savior,

with Thy love our hearts now fill.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast loved us, love us still.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast loved us, love us still.
