1. Number of training organized: (01)i) Training Program organized on Cultivation, Processing and Marketing of Different
Medicinal Plants for Tribals and Local Farmers.
The Training program on cultivation, processing and marketing of different medicinal plants was
organized by RCFC-WR- SPPU, Pune in collaboration with Adivasi Thakur Samaj Seva
Mandal, at Morewadi, Taluka- Karjat, Dist- Raigad, Maharashtra on 16th September, 2020.

In this training program about 87 tribal farmers, students, producers, and traditional Vaidyas
have participated. The information on cultivation of medicinal plants, good collection practices,
agro technology of medicinal plants, different schemes of NMPB, processing and marketing was
given to trainers by Dr. Mokat, PI and Regional Director and Mr. Akash Misal, Technical
Officer. The inauguration function was held in presence of Chief Guest- Mr. Balasaheb Tirankar,
Former General Manager, Maharashtra Rajya Sahakari Adivasi Vikas Maha Mandal, Nashik,
Guest of honor- Dr.Ravindra Mardane, Extension Education Scientist, Regional Research
Centre, Karjat, Dist-Raigad and Shri. Virendra Kolekar, Industrialist, Researcher and Market
Consultant. More than 20 species of medicinal plants were demonstrated to participants with
their medicinal properties and uses. The non-availability of market was the major issue for
medicinal plants growers and collectors. On this issue panel discussion was conducted with the
experts. This program has created a platform for collectors for primary market. Many local
Vaidyas also demonstrated the ethno botanical/ traditional uses of various medicinal plants in
their area, which are commonly used by the natives. The various problems, difficulties during
collection of raw material of medicinal plant drugs were resolved by Dr.Mokat.
2. Number of farmers trained: (87)About 87 tribal farmers, students, producers, and traditional Vaidyas were trained in the training
program on cultivation, processing and marketing of different Medicinal Plants Organized by
RCFC-WR, SPPU, Pune in collaboration with Adivasi Thakur Samaj Seva Mandal at Morewadi,
Taluka- Karjat, Dist-Raigad, Maharashtra on 16th September, 2020.

Initiation of production of Quality Planting Materials (QPMs) of highly demanded Medicinal
Plant Species is undertaken. The steps viz. list of priority species for region prepared, mother
orchards identified and areas for QPMs production identification started.

6. Number of publication/ awareness tools : (03)Preparation of different IEC Materials below has undertaken such as-
i. Information Brochures, Booklets, Pamphlets, Books regarding Cultivation of Dashmool
plants, Immunity Boosting Plants Garden, Schemes of NMPB, Cultivation of highly
demanded medicinal plants have been undertaken.
ii. We have prepared 20 flexes and displayed in front of RCFC-WR Office building near to
entrance on different aspects of medicinal plants and schemes of NMPB.
iii. Similarly we have prepared and displayed 50 medicinal plants informative boards in the
office and corridors to make the awareness regarding different medicinal plants.

7. Number of meeting organized/ participated: (02)
i. The meeting of PI and Dy. Director of RCFC-WR with APCCF and CF, Department of
Forest (Research Wing) held at Van Bhavan, Pune on 25th September, 2020. In this
meeting, discussion was made about production of quality planting materials (QPMs) of
highly demanded medicinal plants species and the area selected for QPMs development
in forest nurseries.
ii. The meeting of PI and Dy. Director with Mr. Annasaheb Hasnabade, Project Manager,
MSHMPB, Pune was conducted. In this meeting, discussion regarding different issues of
medicinal plants was made such as- i)Area under cultivation of medicinal plants,
ii)Number of farmers’ clusters made, iii)Subsidy status given to growers for different
aspects of medicinal plants and UC pending issues.
8. Number of workshop/ seminar/ webinar organized: (03)i. Webinar on ‘Amrutvel Ek Bhartiya Vaibhavshali Aushadhi’ Day & Date- Sunday, 6th
September, 2020. The webinar was organized by Vidnyan Bharati, Pune. The main speakers
were 1)Dr. D.N. Mokat, PI and Regional Director, RCFC-WR, SPPU, Pune. 2)Vd. Sachin Aru,
Shree Arya Ayurved and Panchkarma Clinic, Hadapsar, Pune. Dr.Mokat highlighted all the
details of Amruta (Guduchi / Giloy) Tinospora cordifolia Thumb.Miers. He explained the details
of Cultivation, QPM production, Marketing, Processing and other information. The second
speaker Vd.Sachin Aru explained the Ayurvedic products of Amruta available in the market. He
also explained the procedure for preparation of various Ayurvedic products of Giloy. The
program was screened on Facebook and You Tube. Both the speakers during panel discussion
answered the various questions raised by audience.
ii. Online Lecture For B.E Final Year Students of Government College of Engineering Pune
(COEP) - Topic: -Aspects and Prospects of Medicinal Plants Day & Date - Friday, 11th
September, 2020. Time: - 4 to 5 pm Speaker: Dr. D.N. Mokat, PI & Regional Director, RCFC-
WR, SPPU, Pune. In this lecture, Dr.Mokat explained History, Biodiversity, Regional
Distribution, RET plant species, need for their conservation of these RET species and Schemes
for Cultivation of Medicinal Plants. About 100 students participated in this lecture.

iii. Topic 1- ADMA Symposium towards 100K Cr by 2025 in association with PHD Worlds
Virtual Expo on Pharma, Healthcare, Diagnostics and Hygiene. Day & Date: Thursday, 24th
September, 2020. Time: 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. Speaker: 1) Dr. D.N. Mokat
Topic 2- Medicinal Plants cultivation and issues in Industries. The other dignitaries in the
program were Dr. Milan Mehta, Gen. Sec. ADMA, Vd. Shrikant, DDG, CCRAS, Ministry of
AYUSH, Vd. Katoch, Advisor in Dept. of AYUSH, various speakers from ADMA and Vd.
J.L.N. Sastry, CEO, NMPB, Ministry of AYUSH. The speakers highlighted various issues
regarding medicinal plants.

linked with Mr. Shashikant Shinde, Buyer of Medicinal Plants for procurement of raw
materials.
