Dear Riverhill Membership,
With the heat of summer behind us, the Fall Season in the Texas Hill Country is one of the most popular and enjoyable times for the club. With more comfortable weather, spending time outdoors always seems to bring pleasure and relaxation, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy Riverhill throughout the day. We have several events this coming fall including our Labor Day Weekend Celebration, Jazz Night in the Mansion, our Tennis Mixer, Golf Tournaments, and many others. I hope you will join us for these events and enjoy all the great things Riverhill has to offer. Together, we have instilled a great sense of pride to Riverhill Country Club. The positive reputation of Riverhill continues to spread throughout the area. We are thankful for the invitations and referrals you have shared with your friends and colleagues in becoming a part of the Riverhill family. This has been so impactful for the success of our Club. This time of year is the perfect time to continue to invite friends and neighbors to Riverhill. We also encourage our membership to “follow, like and share” our social media pages. This continues to be instrumental in awareness and growth of The Club. Our desires are to continue providing a great experience for each of our members. Thank you to all the members in making Riverhill the place to belong! #Riverhill Family. #Riverhill Proud!!

Fall is right around the corner. Football is here. There is also some golf still needing to played at Riverhill. Both the Men's and Ladies' Club Championships are scheduled for September. Good luck to all those who sign up. Danderson@riverhillcc.com. That is the sender of your monthly statement. Please check your spam or junk mail if you do not receive it. It hits your email bright and early (between 7:30 and 8:00 am) on the 1st of each month. If you prefer your statement to come by regular mail, let the front office know, and we will arrange it. Membership sales have leveled off a bit, but that is to be expected this time of year. To our new members, a reminder that we have a referral fee for you when you bring in a new member. After the referred member makes 3 payments, you receive a credit on your bill equal to 1 month of the new member's dues. I love paying referral fees!!!

As the busy summer winds down and the kids heading back to school we want to inform you about some exciting accomplishments on the junior golf side this summer: We had 70+ in our clinics over the summer 18 juniors on our Jr. Interclub team
We strive to continue to grow the junior program and this fall the practices will be Wednesdays at 4:00 (9 and under) and 5:00 (10 and over), starting Sept. 4th. Also we will continue the interclub matches one Saturday afternoon a month. If you know of any juniors that would like to learn how to play or ones that already play and want to continue to improve their games, have them call the golf shop. With the recent drought conditions please make sure you are pairing up in carts and repairing your ball marks. This will help us all enjoy excellent playing conditions this fall. Also, Foot Joy will be on hand to show their latest shoes and clothing for special orders. Sincerely, Matt Trevino, PGA Fairway Feats: August 17 - Chuck Hempstead aced #11 145yards, 5 hybrid Men’s Golf Association (MGA) It seemed to me that we spent this entire year playing golf in cool, wet weather. I was starting to wonder if we’d ever see a warm, sunny day. As usual, these were bad thoughts. As we approach the end of summer, a cool, wet day would really hit the spot. Enough day dreaming. On July 27th, we held an Individual Gross/Net. Colby Mahan was our overall winner with a gross score of 75. Jeff Harris took 1st Net with a 72. Also with a 72, but a loss on the scorecard playoff was David Burch. That placed David at 2nd. Chuck Swallow took 3rd with a 74 and 4th went to Bob Merrigan with a 75. To compensate for his scorecard playoff loss, David Burch won Closest to the Pin on #11.
Our next event was an ABC 2 Net Best Balls match held Saturday, August 10th. Participation was down for this one, so we only paid out 1 place. That honor went to the magnificent team of Chuck Swallow, Clay Steadman and my humble self. Bill Stillwell crafted the best tee shot on #11 to win closest to the pin. Thursday the 15th was this month’s Individual Stableford. FYI - If you don’t finish with at least 40 points and Gordon Hongenan is playing, you didn’t win. Congratulations for Gordon who took Overall with 42 points. 1st Place went to Bill Stillwell with a respectable 37 points. Greg Shrader took 2nd place with 36 points and Dan Ehrenreich’s 35 points was good enough for 3rd. Frank Bumpus was closest to the pin on #16. We have one more event in August, but you’ll have to wait until the next issue to find out the results. Of course, why live in suspense. If you want to know who won the day, all you have to do is come out and play. See you on the course. Jay Dunn Riverhill Women’s Golf Association Welcome September!
