SEO WorkshopHow to increase visibility with content
Remember:
You are creating content for people NOT for search engines.
Don’t write for Search Engines
Search engines want you to provide content that is interesting and informative rather than just a page that is too optimised.
Tips for optimised content
• Write relevant and engaging content
• Start with the most important facts
• Use bullet points instead of paragraphs
• Use links within the article• Proofread your pages
Write relevant content
• Content has to be relevant to the keywords and to the function of the page.
• Be careful of overusing keywords or of keyword stuffing.
Structure your content
• Make sure that page titles and description include keywords the page is ranking for.
• Create content which describes the function of the page.
• Most importantly, make sure that content is unique to the page, adds value to the readers and is natural.
Use of Headers(H1, H2, H3)
• Headers are used to put more emphasis on the content that is within the tag.
• Using headers in your content makes your content more readable. • Avoid using too many levels in the hierarchy of content. People don’t
want to think. Create simple and straightforward content.• Make sure you keep your keywords into perspective when creating
your heading.
Start with the most important
Bullet points
• Bullet points are like headlines and should include keywords where possible.
• They encourage the audience to keep on reading.• Where possible include a call-to-action at the end.
Internal linking
Naming convention of links to betsson content should ideally include the same keywords, the destination page is optimised for.
Duplicate Content
Duplicate content can harm your website’s popularity, rankings and business.• Avoid creating duplicate
content in the first place.• Write unique and value
added content.

Proofreading
• Don’t write for the word count. Only write about what is relevant.
• Proofread twice. Actively look out for grammar or punctuation errors.
• Get a second opinion. Another reader might be able to spot mistakes you cannot.
