A PROJECT ON

INTRODUCTION• Counts the total number of persons entering the room.• Consists of infrared sensors and a 16*2 LCD Display interfaced to NXP 89V51 RD2 microcontroller.• Sensors observe the interruption and provide an input to the Microcontroller to obtain the output based on its built in code.• LCD displays the total number of persons in the room.•Limits the total number of persons inside the room.

LITERATURE SURVEY

• Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

• Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

• Modern construction includes telephones, TV outlets (cable or antenna), and a doorbell.

• Infra-red Rx-TX used as theproximity sensors to detectthe presence of nearby objectswithout any physical contact.

• Provides the detection rangeover 3cm.

• Principle - Transmitting abeam of modulated infra-redlight from the emitter diode IRLED transmitter, and receivingreflections from objectspassing in front of the beamwith a photodiode detector IRreceiver.
