How you earn credits !   Must pass class with a “D” or higher

(for graduation ONLY- “C” or higher for college)

!   Earn 1 credit each semester per class (example: English 1=1 credit, Physics 1=1 credit)

!   Each semester =6 credits

!   There are 8 semesters in high school = 48 credits

!   Remediation = summer school (Can only take 2 semesters in

SDUSD summer school) or Edgenuity on-line (select courses)

!   When a student is Absent from school they should... 1)make sure to contact a student buddy 2)look at teacher websites to see what you missed or email teacher 3)Upon return see your teacher about missing assignments or tests. Get clear due dates!

Four Year Plan

Academic Success & Supports !   Use planner! write down all assignments DAILY.

*If no homework, write what you are working on so you can review/study at home!

!   Spend a minimum of 20 minutes studying/reviewing/practicing for each academic class per night!

!   Complete all class and home assignments on time and to the best of your ability.

!   Ask for help when you do not understand something! Seek your teacher’s assistance and see if there are tutoring opportunities at lunch or after school.

!   Attend tutoring in Room 410 Monday – Thursday from 2:15 – 3:15.

!   Check grades in PowerSchool at least one time a week. See teacher immediately if any discrepancies in grades.

Planning for the future

!   Start looking into future potential careers, colleges and majors you may be interested in.

!   Talk to parents, relatives and family friends about what their job entails.
