Let us contemplate the past portrayed so richly by the classic romance novel. In those times of polished manners, grandly furnished rooms and glittering crystal chandeliers, it’s easy to imagine that love ran deeper and the artistic spirit reached higher than in our hurried and harried times.

We can bring back some of the magic by bringing back the chandeliers, at the very least.

Our collection of Grand Tradition crystal chandeliers arises from our own unique history. The Schonbek company has been designing and manufacturing classic crystal chandeliers since 1870 in Bohemia.

A taste of life in the drawing rooms and ballrooms of past centuries

Eighteenth-century rococo artists would recognize a kindred spirit in Schonbek, with the introduction of a new cast chandelier called Milano.

The ornate body of Milano is composed entirely of Italian castings. We worked with accomplished artisans in Italy to create new tooling for every cast part of Milano.

Arms, scrolls and even the tiniest flourishes and fittings are incised with lighthearted floral and foliate motifs and tiny decorative patterns. Filigree openwork gives these baroque castings a unique lace-like quality. Milano comes in clear crystal as well as some very trendy colors: STRASS® Golden Shadow, Silver Shade and Golden Teak. The brilliance of the crystal contrasts with the intricacy of the castings – a beguiling mix of fire and refinement.
