Too is used to describe adjectives, like hot, cold, big, small, etc.

It’s too noisy. = I don’t like the noise.

That lecture was too difficult. = I couldn’t understand

the professor.

Too + an adjective is not used before a noun.

O This classroom is too hot.

Too manya larger number (of something) than is

needed or wanted

It is used to describe countable, plural nouns.

It is often used with the expression, “There are…”.

There are too many cars. = There are more cars than we

need.

I watch too many movies. = I watch more movies than I

should.

Too mucha larger amount (of something) than is

needed or wanted

It is used to describe non-countable, singular nouns.

It is often used with the expression, “There is…”.

There is too much greed. = There is more greed than we

need.

I have too much homework. = I have more homework than

I want.

Enough

all that is required or needed; sufficient

It goes after an adjective but comes before a noun

It can be used to describe all nouns. (count/non-count)

I have enough money to buy lunch. = I have the amount of

money that I need to buy lunch.

My apartment is big enough. = There is sufficient space in

which to live.

Not enough (…n’t enough)

something more is needed; insufficient

I don’t have enough money to buy lunch. = I need more

money to buy lunch.

My apartment isn’t big enough. (X enough big) = My

apartment is too small.

There aren’t enough places to park on campus. = There

are too many cars on campus.
