BOOK IN FOR A RETIREMENT PLANNINGSEMINARMembers aged 52 years and overare invited to attend a seminar asthey need to be aware of theoptions and entitlements availablein their superannuation scheme.

Our seminar program now involvesvisiting all major country centres atleast once every two years withmore regular visits to regionalcentres.

Each month we run separateseminars for SSS and SASS in Sydney.

Last financial year more than 70seminars were held across the Stateand were attended by 5066 members.

The seminars are conducted overfour hours and take an in-depthlook at specific scheme rules as wellas a financial planning segmentfrom State Super Financial ServicesAustralia Limited (SSFS).

The seminars educate and informmembers about how they canmaximise their employer-financedbenefits in preparation forretirement.

The scheme-specific presentation covers the followingissues:• scheme design and entitlements• contribution rates and how to maximise employer-

financed benefits• scheme terminology - final salary and final average

salary, benefit points etc.• 15% concessional contributions tax• Basic Benefit• pension and lump sum taxation• preservation rules - when you can get your benefit.

The financial planning segment covers:• your lifestlyle needs - budgets, wills, insurance etc.• superannuation after work - maximising your options• money to live on - income streams, social security• managing risk• changing needs• the financial planning cycle.

Members are encouraged to ask questions during theseminar and presenters are available to answer questionsduring breaks and at the conclusion of the seminar.
