The SAIT Students’ Association (SAITSA) celebrates teaching excellence by providing students with an opportunity to recognize the best instructors in their respected schools. Instructor excellence is more than just teaching, it is about going above and beyond to help students. A common theme in the nominations brings light to instructors who are caring and helpful by way of face-to-face, personal interaction. This helps students feel valued and as a result, students better understand the investment and challenges in learning. It cultivates a positive educational environment and speaks to the community that surrounds the student body at SAIT.
A full page advertisement in the March 24th, 2016 edition of the Metro newspaper shows these awards are more than an internal affair. Celebrating teaching excellence with our city highlights what our SAIT community is all about.
Award recipients were narrowed down from a list of over 450 nominations of 156 individuals. Although only one instructor can be selected from each school/department, SAITSA recognizes the collective impact of many good instructors on the student experience. Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to student success. The following word cloud is a visual representation of qualities students identified as characteristics of teaching excellence this academic year:
