Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe What have you done? That question of Pilate to Jesus is a key? What have you done? On the last Sunday of this liturgical year, it becomes our final exam. It is an essay question – with each of us filling it out in different but specific ways.
What have I done this past year to bring on the Reign and Kingdom of God? How have I acted with loving-kindness, with God-like-mercy? Since my end has not come, what will I do now?

Bible Study: The Mass with Bishop Robert Barron
Our next session featuring The Mass DVD series with Bishop Robert Barron will be held on Sunday, Nov. 25,
6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Virden. The sixth and final session in the series is titled, "The Real Presence Creates Communion." "The Consecration - the climatic moment of the Mass - enables us to offer
Christ himself to the Father.... And we are there being offered with him, all as members of the Mystical Body. Having
been knitted together during the Liturgy of the Word, we are joined in this supreme sacrifice, which the Father does not need, but which benefits us infinitely." Bishop Robert Barron. All are welcome to join us!
The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ?
The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 10:16

SOME MOTHERS BOY
Pat Hare
All alone so far from home. On a lonely battle field, All around him there’s a picture filled with
strife.
Wondering why he’s setting there,
With a rifle in his hands,
Waiting to take another’s life.
The moon up above is a sign of peace and love,
When it’s shining on a country that is free,
But the moon here is red, on this battle field so dread,
For its shining on a place of misery.
Some mother’s boy is lonesome tonight,
Some mothers’ boy is blue,
Some mothers’ boy gave up all of his joy.
To go to Vietnam and fight for you.
Written 1967 when my Uncle Stan went to Vietnam. Thank God he
made it back alright.
But for all the ones who didn’t make it back, my mom wrote this.

Immaculate Conception Obligation) December 26, 27, 28: Regular Weekday Mass Schedule January 2, 3, 4: Regular Weekday Mass Schedule ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT AT SACRED HEART Wednesday, November 21: No Adoration Wednesday, December 19: Adoration as Usual Wednesday, December 26: No Adoration Wednesday, January 2: No Adoration *Special Note: The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception occurs on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Because the U.S. Bishops have not lifted the obligation for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the two obligations for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Second Sunday of Advent, remain. In other words, the faithful must attend Mass twice to fulfill two separate obligations. Aside from canonical requirements, it would be hoped, of course, that Catholics foster a love for the Sacred Liturgy and hold a desire to celebrate the holy days as fully as is reasonably possible.
