The original statue is stored in the collections of the National Gallery, the actual statue is a copy from 1967.There are currently 3  copies on display: in Sfantu Gheorghe and Cluj (Romania) and in Budapest

An interesting detail is that the armor on the saint is similar to the scales covering the body of the dragon! This detail became an inspiration for the poet and philosopher Lucian Blaga, in his poem “In front of a statue of Saint George” metaphorically capture this resemblance between winners and losers, between the forces of good and evil

On the high of the Pärnu River in Tori small country town a stone church was built in 1854

The house of worship was destroyed during the Second World WAR, on 22nd September 1944 the retreating German troops blew up Tori Brigde and set the schurch on fire, of which only the boulder walls stayed up.
