RRIF Credits: To Infinity…..and Beyond

In the beginning……..

There was the credit book…..

And it did its job……………

And after a time, there was improvement….

And some things stayed the same…..

And some things didn’t…….

And after many years of doing the same thing day after day……………

There became a need………….

• City of Reno’s estimation of man hours needed to subtract credits out of credit books for each permit:

1995 hours spent on permits:1861.22 hours (1 person/year)

2003 hours spent on permits:2861.72 hours (1.5 persons/year)

2004 hours spent on permits:Over 3000 hours

And an idea was formed from that need..

The idea:Use the one tool everyone had in common…

And make it as easy as ABC…for the issuance and transfer of RRIF credits

And thus, RRIF Automation was born…

• Two websites were uploaded:– One for the administrators

First access was for RTC….

And the next access was for the developers..

And the need was fulfilled!
