Introduction

TheRoyalReedOrganforNIKontakt5isourflagshipharmoniumlibrary.Theinstrumentsourceisa

400-poundsuctionairharmoniumfromthe1920s.Itwasmadebythepianoandreedorgancompany

Östlind&Almquist(1888-1962),apurveyortotheSwedishroyalcourt.Thisharmoniumfeaturesa

wholerangeofhighqualityvoices,fromthelowend16’Subbasses,allthewayuptothe2’Piccolo.

Thelistofstopsisimpressive,andenablesa

greatvarietyoftimbres.Everystophas

dedicatedcontrolsforon/off,volume,and

finetuning.Thekeyboardisdividedintotwo

areas,withstopstocontrolthevoiceson

eithersideofthesplit.

Ourgoalwastobetruetotheoriginaldesign,

butalsotoextenditsfeaturesinthedigital

realm.Inourversion,youcanpreciselyset

theeffectoftheairpumponthesound,and

shapethetimbreoftheregistersusingyour

modulationwheelandaftertouch.

Thissamplelibraryshipswith40presetsthatvaryincharacterandcomplexity.Whetheryou’reinto

Thepumpeffectrecreatestheorganmechanismbycombiningmodulationofvolumeandtonewithsynchronisedrecordingsoftheairpumpinaction.
