Screenplay

About this play

• first staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1966• two main characters : _minor characters from Hamlet _schoolmates and childhood friends of Hamlet• Story :• Focusing on their actions with the events of

Hamlet as background.• important events are going on around them but

who die without ever understanding them.

The introduction in a website• Although the two people in the play are not much

useful, the Prince quickly suspected them to be a spy. Then the King gave a secret order to murder Hamlet,

who was away in the United Kingdom that time and hide his name.

Then, the two characters died inexplicably behind the scene.

Face book !I could watch this every day and always find something new to love!

Now every time I see a version of Hamlet, my heart leaps up a little when Rosencrantz and Guildenstern first appear.

Quick reflection

• like two clowns

• living their life of no purpose

and no incomprehension of

their situation.

As an outsider of the story?

Used to be an insider

• usually being an insider when we see a movie or play

• Almost every detail can be found on the screen

When we go outside

• have no understanding about what really happened even until they die!

• unclear and inexplicable

Brief reflection

• interesting view

• Not to be the main character.
