MDA: The Main Distribution Area is the central space where the point of distribution for the structured cabling system in the data center is located.
HDA: The Horizontal Distribution Area is the space that supports cabling to the equipment distribution areas. The LAN, SAN, console, and KVM switches that support the end equipment are also typically located in the Horizontal Distri-

Benefit of HDCS® TaurusTM PRECONNECT® Solution
Step 1 - Lay the TaurusTM PRECONNECT® Fiber Trunk Cable
Lay the MPO terminated fiber connector PRECONNECT® trunk cable in the customer
data center room according to the system design map. Laying the cable either under
the floor or above the bridge is suitable for Rosenberger PRECONNECT® trunk cables.
Each PRECONNECT® trunk cable end is installed with protection & pulling sleeves,
which can be directly and quickly pulled to the right area along the route.
Step 2 - TaurusTM PRECONNECT® Trunk Connection
Referring to the PRECONNECT® trunk cable Installation Manual, remove the protection
tubes and sleeves at each end of the trunk. Connect the fiber optic connector to the
fiber patch panels and the active equipment, per transmission channel definitions. No
special tool or fusion splicing is required.
Step 3 - Fiber Channel Test
In order to ensure the right installation, particularly in relation to fiber channel perfor-
mance, testing each fiber channel is recommended.

Features
HDCS® DracoTM indoor and outdoor Cat.6a 10G UTP cables
are designed for unshielded cabling systems. HDCS® DracoTM
10G UTP cables exceed requirements of TIA/EIA-568-C.2 and
ISO/IEC11801-2nd-Edition with significant margins on all param-
eters specified specifically for 10G applications, with a testing
frequency up to 500MHz. Cables are available with different
jacket materials (CM, CMR, LSZH, CMP, etc.) of various flame-
retardant levels.
