Star-cross’d Lovers
“From forth the fatal° loins of these two foes/A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life.”
I, Prologue, 5-6
From the beginning, Romeo and Juliet were destined to die.
Foreshadows Death“ I fear, too early; for my mind misgives/Some
consequence yet hanging in the stars/Shall bitterly begin his fearful date/With this night’s revels…”
I, iv, 106-111
Romeo foreshadows his death before the Capulet’s party. He knows he’s destined to die.
The Lost Letter
“I could not sent it-here it is again-/Nor get a messenger to bring it thee,/So fearful were they of infection.”
V, ii, 14-16
Romeo did not get the letter of Juliet’s false death in time causing him to jump the to conclusion that she has died and he killed himself. I was destiny that the letter didn’t make it to him.
