Roles in film making• In groups of 3, come up with as many

different roles in moving making as you can.• Put each idea onto a separate post-it note.• These ideas can be split up into three areas - Pre-Production - Production

- Post-ProductionCome up to the board and place them under

the appropriate headings.

Pre - ProductionThe story is king

MotivationWhy is the story worth telling? What makes it unique?Who are you making the film for?

Elements of an effective story• Hook – The beginning must have a hook so the audience

wants to find out more• Has structure – clear sequence with a beginning, middle

and end• Emotional content – The audience identifies with it

because of its emotional content – eg excitement, sadness• Pace – We need to keep the pace to keep the audiences

attention• Effective soundtrack – Soundtrack conveys emotion,

mood, mood and emotion and links with the message

Story board

A storyboard contains a rough sketch representation of the video.

A storyboard is essentially a timeline that allows you to see what the scenes will look like.

Your pictures can be simple drawings, but you need to think carefully about the shots you are going to take and the script you are going to use.

The rule of thirdsThe rule states that an image can be divided

into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines.

The four points formed by the intersections of these lines can be used to align features in photos or videos.

Post productionEditing More than about 10 seconds from any angle

is bordering on too much.Sound effects
