Role of individuals in preserving “NATURAL RESOURCES” for

their equitable balance“NATURAL RESOURCE”

A resource which meets the desires of human is natural resource.

Natural resources are:1.Forest resource2.Water resource3.Mineral resource4.Food resources

5.Land resources

Preservation of “FOREST RESOURCES”

We need to stop destroying forests and cutting trees. We must prevent forest fires.Cutting trees or killing birds and animals should beProhibited.Provision of more accurate and comprehensive estimatesof quantity and quality ofexisting resources.

Improvement of existing forests by suitable silviculture and management practices by (a)reservation and protection of more forests,(b)introduction of working plans.

Intensive forestry and plantation of fast growing Industrial woods on suitable deforested sites.

Preservation of mineral and food resorces

New researches should be undertaken to find out and develop “replacement minerals” for us in place of scarce minerals which are in short supply and going to depleted soon.

Miners should be impacted training of adopt new techniques of mining, usage of latest

technologies and machines and take maximum precautions cause

little damage to environment. Plants are the primary sources of

food to us. The main world food problem is

malnutrition. To overcome This problem we should increase the

productivity of crops and grow a variety of plants.

We must use minerals sensibly as they are non renewable natural resources.

There is only a limited amount of oil, limestone, iron, coal etc.in earth. We should use renewable and non-polluting sources of energy like solar energy, wind energy, etc.insteated of coal and oil so that they can last longer.

Preservation of “water and land resources”

Adequate water supplies of high quality are necessary both for community use and local ecosystems.

Though some resources like air, water, soil, etc.are renewable we should use them carefully as their pollution has affect on plants and

animals too.

Non renewable sources for power generation, home and work place, and transportation cause pollution

and its harmful impacts

Forestation or planting trees as their rooys hold together.

Cultivating the soil also provides it cover and prevents wind from blowing it away.

Terrace and step farming done on slopes of hills slows the speed of water flowing down and reduces soil erosion.

Building embankments on river banks prevents soil erosion by the rivers.

By educating, informing and sensitizing all landholders about various aspects of this precious resources and their sustainable use.

Contour ploughing is another measure to conserve land.By this method, the fields are ploughed, harrowed and sown along the natural contour of the hills.

Construction of dams and gully trap inculcate the water harvesting.

It is our responsibility to protect all these resources.
